How does all this wedding stuff work?
Well! You've found yourself a partner and youve decided to take that massive commitment in life to be forever joined at the hip! Let's talk about how all this bit works shall we?
Wedding planning can be daunting, but let me help make it easier for you!
01. BIG WEDDING OR ELOPE?
Whats important about your decision here is that you remember that this is YOUR day! Nobody else's! You and your partner need to do whats best for you and create your day how you see it, not how everyone else in your life wants to. Your relationship together should tell you if you want intimacy like an elopement, or if you want a big event! (you can do both btw! you can always elope then go back for a formal reception!)
02. PICK A LOCATION
We are so blessed for so many beautiful venue options and so many gorgeous locations for your special day! Have a wee shop about and see what suits you both, whether thats a stately home, or a marquee in your neighbours field, up in the mountains or on the beach, theres so many locations to chose from! If you need any help, give me a shout!
03. SEASON & TIMELINE
This will affect your pricing for a lot of venues too! Peak wedding season is typically from the end of April through to September and venues and some vendors have peak prices during these periods. Decide what vibe you want for the weather and go from there, remember... although Saturdays and Sundays are best for the masses, venues are sometimes up to half price on selected weekdays so its worth an ask!
04. GUEST LIST
Who means the most to you? Who has impacted your relationship together? Who has nothing but love and joy and support for you?
Invite your nearest and dearest, but have a wee think about who you cannot see yourself getting married without being there! You don't want to look back in 10 years time and not remember who some people are because you've invited everyone on your facebook friends list!
05. LOGISTICS
This is the bit you need to think about in terms of if you're eloping, how are we actually getting to this place? Any contingency plans? Rainy day plans? Or if you're having a full wedding and booked the ceremony in two different places, how is everyone getting between both? Just something to think about one evening.
06. LEGAL DETAILS
Celebrants, Legal paperwork, Vows, Ring Exchange, all these details vary between where you're getting married. In Scotland you can find the information about your particular marriage requirements in the COUNCIL WHERE YOUR CEREMONY IS TAKING PLACE not necessarily your own local council! (unless its the same)
